Our Story
Ride Taxis started in 2014 with one car and one driver in Burnley. The idea was simple: give people in East Lancashire a taxi service they could actually rely on. No inflated prices, no cancellations, no sitting on hold for twenty minutes. Just honest, dependable rides from someone who lived round the corner and actually cared whether you got to work on time.
That single car turned into two. Then five. Then ten. Word spread — not through flashy marketing, but because people told their mates. Within a couple of years we'd outgrown Burnley and started picking up across Nelson, Colne, Padiham, and Brierfield. By 2018 we were covering Blackburn, Accrington, and most of Pendle.
Today, Ride Taxis operates Lancashire's largest private hire fleet — over 200 drivers serving more than 130 towns and villages, with over 2.5 million lifetime jobs completed. We're still family-run to this day. No venture capital, no board in London. Every decision is made locally, by people who live here and use the service themselves.
